The Orthodox Catholic Church of the New Age

In the wake of the First Vatican Council in 1870, a significant schism occurred within the Roman Catholic Church. Dissatisfied with the doctrine of papal infallibility and the monolithic organism that the Church was becoming, a large community broke ties with Rome. But not having bishops of their own, the breakaways knew that the only way they could function independently was to acquire the episcopal ranks among their number. So they solicited episcopal consecrations from other sources including the Orthodox and the independent Catholic See of Utrecht in the Netherlands.

The family of churches which emerged from this movement has come to be known as the “Old Catholics” or what we might call Independent Catholics. Such churches may be found around the world and in most cases legitimately claim Apostolic Succession from the Mother Churches. The Orthodox Catholic Church of the New Age is one such entity which traces its line of succession from the Syrian Patriarch of Antioch. (See succession.)

J.S.M. Ward, a 20th century mystic along with his wife Jesse founded the order which is primarily based in Australia but now has a modest presence in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. (See Pakistani webpage.) With a divine mandate to prepare the world for the imminent return of Jesus Christ, the fundamental mission of the Orthodox Catholic Church of the New Age is to encourage the human race to prepare itself to receive Christ the King.

Part of this labor not only involves making people aware of the Second Advent but also entails laying the foundation for the teachings which will characterize the New Age or the Millennium of Peace that Jesus Christ will usher in. Though unquestionably controversial to many, such teachings are hardly novel but represent the core of spiritual wisdom that has come down to us throughout the ages and can be found as a golden thread throughout all religions and cultures. We refer to this body of ideas collectively as the “Ancient Wisdom,” the treasure chest of spiritual knowledge that is the inheritance of the human race.

The purpose of this website is to share these teachings which in our estimation offer a comprehensive and consistent view of Reality.
